Mricrobiology



THE NEXT UNIT WILL BE ON MICROBIOLOGY WHILE READING MY SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN. WE WILL BE INCORPORATING HANDS ON SCIENCE WITH THE BOOK. THEY WILL HAVE TO LEARN ABOUT THE PARTS OF THE MICROSCOPE AND HOW TO PREPARE SLIDES. THEY WILL ALSO LEARN ABOUT TYPES OF MICROORGANISMS. THEY WILL ALSO BE INVOLVED WITH LEARNING ABOUT THE MEANING OF LIFE.WE WILL ALSO LOOK AT PLANT LIFE, ANIMAL KINGDOM AND WEATHER AROUND US.

WE WILL BE STUDYING THE MEANING OF LIFE. IT WILL BE AN ACTIVE UNIT WITH HANDS ON AND LIVE ANIMALS. TOPICS LIKE MICROBIOLOGY, BOTANY AND ZOOLOGY. THEY WILL ALSO DESIGN AN INVENTION SO THEY CAN ENTER THE INVENTION CONVENTION IN MAY.

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT




MR. IANNONE'S CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT CLASS




During this school year in your intervention class I will be teaching Character Development. We will explore the six pillars of character ( respect, responsibility, trustworthiness,fairness, caring , citizenship) through the thoughts and personal experiences of young people throughout the U.S. We will be watching inspiring documentaries, humorous vignettes and insight teen discussions about each of the pillars. In class we will be having open discussions, skits, writing assignments and group projects.











THIS NINE WEEK LESSON WILL BE ON "WHAT IS FAIRNESS?"

•Treat others the way you want to be treated.
•Treat people impartially and without prejudice.
• Consider the feelings of all people who will be
•Affected by your actions.
• Be open-minded and reasonable.
• Play by the rules.
• Don’t take advantage of others.

ANOTHER YEAR 2008-2009







































I am presently in my 35th year teaching and we have completed one nine week period. It has been an exciting journey with these new 6th graders. They have been a lot of fun. You will see other pictures of them learning about science this year.

MR. IANNONE THE SCIENCE GUY

Mr. Iannone the 6th grade Science Teacher at Paseo Hills Elementary School. I am presently the Varsity Girl's Basketball Coach at Deer Valley High. I was voted the Assistant Coach of The Year for 5A-II for 2006 which that year we were State Champs and I was Coach of the Year for the Northwest Region in 2008. I have won the Presidential award two times when I was selected in the top three. I am also in Who's Who in Education. Also won Exmplary Elementary
Mathematics and Science Teacher in 2000. I have a Master of Art in Education. I have been teaching for 35 wonderful years. My famous quote is a famous chinese proverb :

•I SEE, AND I REMEMBER
•I DO, AND I UNDERSTAND
